After 17 seasons leading the Cavaliers Men’s Soccer Program, Head Coach Mauro Di Ciocco will step down from the role he has held since 2008.
Di Ciocco’s connection to Champlain College Saint-Lambert began in 1996 as a student-athlete, highlighted by a CCAA All-Canadian Award in 1998–99. Following collegiate play in the NAIA and NCAA at Felician College, he returned to Montreal. In 2005, he joined the Cavaliers coaching staff. As an assistant coach, he was part of the Cavaliers’ historic 2007 CCAA National Championship.

Promoted to head coach in 2008, Di Ciocco transformed the program into one of Québec and Canada’s most consistent.
A three-time RSEQ Coach of the Year and the 2021–22 CCAA Coach of the Year, he guided the Cavaliers to nine RSEQ podium finishes: gold in 2011, 2019, and 2024; silver in 2008, 2014, and 2025; and bronze in 2012, 2013, and 2016. Nationally, his teams earned one silver and two bronze medals.
Under his leadership, countless Cavaliers have advanced to NCAA, U SPORTS, professional, and semi-professional opportunities across North America and Europe.
Beyond the pitch, Di Ciocco emphasized community engagement, fostering student-athlete involvement with initiatives such as the Homeless World Cup and Welcome Hall Mission—instilling values of service and citizenship.
“I’ve had the honour of working with Mauro and witnessing the impact of his dedication on our program and student-athletes,” said Vince Amato, Coordinator of Athletics at Champlain College Saint-Lambert. “He built upon the program’s foundation and elevated it to new heights. His care for the students and the Cavaliers has been evident in everything he does.”
Current assistant coach and Cavaliers alumnus Charles De Santis will assume the head coaching role in January 2026. A former Cavalier from 2014–2016, De Santis is already preparing for the upcoming season.
