The Champlain Men’s Rugby team was facing a very challenging opponent in André-Laurendeau, in rainy and cold conditions.
After getting off to a quick start thanks to a try by the scrum half Laurent Jomphe, the Cavaliers plowed in a few tries, notably by Waleed Mohamed who scored two within a very short span.
When the second half rolled along, Champlain did not take off their foot off the gas. After a few injuries in key positions, the Cavaliers scored several times, thanks in part to Laurent Bouchard showing an exceptional first step and great athleticism. Champlain won the game 39-0.
The Cavaliers play their next game on October 11 at Marianopolis (Concordia Field – Loyola Campus). Kick-off at 7:00 PM.
