seb_deschampsChamplain College Saint-Lambert is pleased to announce that Sebastien Deschamps has come aboard as the new Defensive Coordinator of the Cavaliers Football Team. Coach Deschamps was Special Teams Coordinator for the last 2 seasons in the Édouard-Montpetit Football program.

“I am very happy that Seb accepted to become our new DC. He knows what it takes to bring players to the next level, himself being a former CIS player.  He is also familiar with the Collegiate league as a former player and as a coordinator,” said Head Coach Frank Chagnon, of the Champlain Cavaliers. “It’s important for us to bring young, talented coaches on the team”.

As Special Teams Coordinator at Édouard-Montpetit, Coach Deschamps’ teams blocked 15 punts during his tenure and posted the best average in the league for kick-off returns in 2012. He also coached during the Alouettes’ Classic in 2012 and 2013. As a player, he played 11 seasons for the St-Bruno Barons where he made the all-star team in Bantam and Midget before heading to Édouard-Montpetit where he played for 3 years, named all-star for two of those seasons. Upon graduation, Seb was recruited by the Concordia Stingers where he played for 4 years.

His nomination is effective immediately.
