wp_ccr_002The Champlain Cavaliers Cross-Country Running teams are heading to Humber College in Toronto, Ontario to compete in the 2013 CCAA Cross-Country National Championships which are taking place from November 8-9. Both the Men’s and Women’s team qualified from the RSEQ Conference – the Men’s team finished 2nd in Quebec while the ladies finished 6th.

The Cavaliers will be represented by Marek Adamowicz, Benjamin Daunoravicius, Nassim Ennabaoui and Paul Ramsay-Vejlens on the Men’s side and Joëlle Bédard, Gabriella Farallo, Camille Georges and Kendra Warnock-Juteau are competing in the Women’s race. The team is coached by two-timw RSEQ Coach of the Year (2011 & 2013) Eric Beaudoin, Martin Angel and Cavalier Alumnus Coraline Tse.

wp_ccr_003 The Cavaliers will be competing against the strongest runners from across Canada in a 5km race for the Women and an 8km race for the Men. While individual awards are handed out to top finishers, the Cavaliers strength has always been the team events. Thea teams have made appearances at the past 5 CCAA Nationals Championships but have yet to medal. This year, they’re hoping to change the trend.

The races will be held on November 9th at the Humber Arboretum with the ladies 5km starting at 11:00 AM followed at 12:00 PM by the men’s 8km.
