Champlain Cavalier Zachary Bleau-Prevost from Boucherville is heading to Rhode Island and Bryant University once he completes his studies at Champlain this spring. Zach is the first of this group of Cavalier soccer players who is NCAA bound.
In his second year with the Cavaliers under head coach Mauro DiCiocco, Zach led his team to an undefeated season, advancing all the way to the provincial semi-finals. He scored six goals and had 13 assists in just 11 matches in 2012 and he played a key part in helping the Cavaliers capture the 2011 RSEQ Division 1 Men’s Soccer Provincial title. Aside from getting things done on the pitch, Zach has also been an excellent example of a student-athlete – he is currently on the Dean’s List for the Fall 2012 semester.
“Zach has tons of potential and passion for the game,” said head coach Seamus Purcell of the Bryant University Bulldogs. “In addition to his blistering speed and toughness, Zach also possesses great balance, movement and technique. His ability to beat defenders one vs. one is his greatest asset. He is a fearless competitor and will be a major contributor for the Bulldogs this fall.”
Congrats, Zach! Way to go!
