0361_003Champlain College Saint-Lambert is pleased to announce that  Alain Blondeau will be the new Offensive Coordinator of the Champlain Cavaliers Football team. Coach Blondeau is coming back to coaching after taking a year off, prior to which he led the Édouard-Montpetit Football program dating back to 1999.

“I am very happy that Alain accepted to become our new OC. His vast experience of the game will help our current players and his knowledge of the different teams on the South Shore will contribute positively to our recruitment,” said Head Coach Frank Chagnon, of the Champlain Cavaliers. “Alain knows what we value here at Champlain and how we view the student-athlete experience. He knows that we want to see a prosperous football program, but not at the expense of a student-athlete’s education.”

Coach Blondeau started his coaching career in the 1970’s with the St-Hubert Rebelles. He taught football at Collège Charles-Lemoyne and founded the Metro.com team for the Wilson Challenge. He brought the Édouard-Montpetit team to the Bol d’Or semi-finals after their second season in the Division 1 league.

Over the years, Coach Blondeau has assisted in the development of student-athletes such as Mathieu Bertrand, Patrick Dorvelus and Kristian Matte. He holds a Level 3 certification from the NCCP and has participated in numerous coaching clinics in the USA.

“Following a one year break, I’ve decided to return to coaching in order to help young men become better student-athletes,” stated Blondeau.

His nomination is effective immediately.
