Champlain’s very own Vince Amato was named this year’s CCAA Athletic Director of the Year at the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association’s annual General Meeting and Hall of Fame Banquet.  Vince has led the Champlain Cavaliers Athletics Program for the past 6 years and has worked in Athletics and Recreation at the college since 1998. In the past 3 years, the college has hosted the 2011 RSEQ Soccer Championship, the 2012 CCAA National Cross Country Championship, the 2013 RSEQ Basketball Championship, as well as the 2014 CCAA National Women’s Basketball Championship under Vince’s leadership.  Vince also serves as the CCAA Vice President of Marketing and is Vice President of the Champlain College Foundation.

His leadership has permitted the college to include students in the decision making process as well maintaining stability in its coaching staff and host high profile student centered championships” mentioned Dean Howie, Champlain College Director of Student Services.

The Champlain College is located on the South Shore of Montreal and has a student population of approximately 3,000 students with an Athletics program consisting of 12 intercollegiate teams and 275 student-athletes.
